The contract with the Tarnów Mechanical Research and Operations Center (OBRSM, Osrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Sprzetu Mechanicznego) for the development of the grenade launcher was signed on March 9, 2007. The next step was to test the weapon's authenticity. Both ballistic and high explosive (HE) grenades are fired at 100 and 325-350 meters. This test is done at the beginning of the test and then 500 and 1,000 are shot. The maximum speed reduction was 2.2%, the maximum was 5%. The length of the weapon was also tested. Environmental testing was another important phase. The weapon has been tested over a range of temperatures. Storage trials were conducted at -50 to 70 Celsius and operational trials at -30 to 55 Celsius. There was no problem. There were no examples of autoignition and the grenade worked well. The only problem was the drum rotation and it was fixed in time.
The weather resistance test was also tested. The RGP-40 was exposed to snow, dew, 2 hours of rain, 2 hours of immersion in water, high humidity, dust and sand at 55 degrees Celsius. The weapon was also placed on a vibrating bed and tested at 1-80 Hz in several locations.
