Revolver Reviews 2022 - Welcome to another Wheelgun Wednesday on TFB where we cover any and all revolvers. Over the past few years I've reviewed many Smith & Wesson revolvers, but today we're going to review the Taurus 605, a very affordable five-shot .357 Magnum straight-nose revolver. I've seen a lot of Taurus 605 revolvers in gun shops, and this is a popular choice for those looking to carry a concealed weapon. Let's dig into the Model Taurus 605.

My first experience with a Taurus revolver was my brother-in-law's Model 44 a few years ago. I was very impressed and it has good reliability, so I'm looking forward to trying other Taurus wheel guns. The Taurus 605 revolver debuted in 1995 and since then has been offered in stainless, black oxide, and Cerakote finishes, as well as a version with a polymer cap. The 605 is also available in 2 and 3 inch barrel lengths and several different grip options. The example I've seen is the 2-inch stainless version that comes with a rubber grip.

Upon unboxing, the 605 appeared to fit and finish, and felt good in my hand. There's a lot of checking from the back of the grips and the slightly protruding toe rack to the hips. I like the overall aesthetic, even though it's not the BBQ tool material, the design is still sleek and simple. It has an aggressive, off-hand look, but I'm definitely curious how the magnum weight feels like.

The dual-action and single-action triggers feel easy to pull, and don't have a hard texture. We'll get to the trigger in a bit more, but I was really impressed with my quick dry fire session. The rear sight is typical of a curved nose, as it is a skinny sight parallel to the top strap of the revolver, and the notch in the back helps contrast the front sight. On this stainless model, the integrated front sight illuminates well in daylight. One downside is that the front sight is part of the barrel, so there's no way to swap it out for a night sight or color insert. However, this increases production costs and is easy to obtain during the day. The three-inch model appears to have an embedded interchangeable front sight.

Note the contrast between the front and back views in daylight conditions. The "Taurus Safety System" (integral safety lock) can also be seen on the back of the hammer. It was never activated while I was using it.

Additional fasteners can be seen at the top of the faucet, and the receiving slot in the frame is visible behind it.

Snub-nosed revolvers are typically limited-use weapons where they can work well, hoping to engage the bad guys at 10 feet or less. However, the Taurus 605 far exceeded my expectations in the accuracy department. On my first ride, I was able to consistently hit MK Machining steel targets at 30 and 40 yards. During my regular distance sessions, I barely hit 12-inch plate armor at 100 yards with a .38 Special. It helps the target rest on the ground so I can see the shots ahead of them, some of which are going into the plate.

Accuracy is especially aided by the Taurus 605's large trigger. Given the intended role and range of the pug, one might think manufacturers would be willing to sacrifice some detail on the trigger, especially on budget revolvers, but the Taurus knocks the 605 trigger out of the park. There's no extra violence or play and it's seamless throughout its journey. The single action was accurate and easy, I started at the 100 yard line, but I was fine with the double action!

Most of my rounds through the Taurus 605 revolver were in the .38 Special, which is naturally gentle on recoil. I fired a mix of 158-grain and 125-grain .357 Magnums, which were a sharper recoil in the hands, but not a deal breaker due to the rubber grips surrounding the frame. The empty box is easily removed and sometimes brought close to the frame. My S&W Model 36 HKS Speedloader is perfectly sized for the cylinder bay, so every reload is smooth and fast.

I had a lot of fun with the Taurus 605 revolver, even though the Taurus has gotten a bad case over the years. I loved the fit and finish, it felt in my hand and was easy to control even with the heaviest magnum charge I had. I also like the price compared to many other revolvers on the market. The matte stainless 605 2-inch model I tested is listed at $405.92, and the 605 line ranges from $388 to $540, depending on the options we covered above. You can view the entire Taurus 605 line HERE or check out the rest of the Taurus revolvers and semi-automatic pistols at TaurusUSA.com. Stay tuned, we'll also be reviewing the Model Taurus 66 in the upcoming issue of TFB's Wheelgun Wednesday.

It's no exaggeration to say that the classic rock landscape would have been very different in early 1966 if The Beatles had been in a plane crash or something.

As the last musical offering to the world. Some 57 years later, it's still a phenomenal album lyrically, but those of us who weren't around at the time may not fully appreciate how paradigm-bending and genre-bending it was when it first came out. Such a thing never happened. There is a paradox that all the imaginative albums that followed actually somewhat obscured an unprecedented burst of imagination. It can be a little hard to see

And many other albums written after the picture was finished. It inspired many successors who have benefited from the example of this album, and another album in fifty years makes it a little more difficult to see the imprint it has made.

As ground zero that gave rise to them all. But make no mistake, the modern rock era began with its release in August 1966. Even Bob Dylan, who at the time represented unexplored musical terrain himself, had yet to release an album of this magnitude. It was a turning point in the history of rock music, breaking barriers and breaking boundaries and showcasing the best that rock music had to offer.

. The world of rock music will never be the same, and how many albums can you name?

There is one major drawback - a very mean stereo mix. There are several reasons for this - the first is that the Beatles pushed the boundaries of the technology available to them. Abbey Road was a world-famous studio, true, but the best it could offer were four-track machines, and eight-track recorders had been available in the US for several years, and The Beatles overcame these limitations and filled them all. four cassette tracks, then combine them into one track, and maybe three more for additional predub. But they didn't learn to strategically separate out the most important instruments in stereo — often they recorded guitar, bass, and drums first, then mixed them together and then combined them. in the stereo spectrum. But then again, they didn't care to separate the instruments, because most of the albums were selling in those days
